I guess "Bait" is one example of the reasons I don't read thrillers: gore, stereotypes instead of characters (presumably so you can dispose of them without getting too upset), and an irritating emphasis on the physical appearance of the females. One woman apparently remains attractive after getting two holes blown in her head, and we are treating to a paragraph or two on the "well-toned" body of our heroine, complete with shorty nightie and tanned legs. Puh-leese! My rationale for having been subjected to this is that such trash makes me appreciate the good stuff, like last week's novel and, I hope, next week's?
