I was born in 1956. I must have been 5 or 6 years old when we were given vaccines at school. I remember that I had a reaction the the vaccine. When the school nurse identified the adverse reacton, she began to cry. The teachers, all nuns, were crying also.
My grandmother had to take me to the hospital for testing on many occassions. I was never told what all the fuss was about. But I do remember that I was scared. I never heard the word polio for several years until I overheard my father tell a relative that I had had a false positive polio test.
This book is very interesting to me now. I am a nurse, and a student. History is very interesting to me.Thank you for offering this book, and thank you for the privelege of interacting with this web site. I am a first time internet reader. This format is perfect for busy people who love to read, but never find the time. I am like many people I know, as soon as I sit down with a good book, I fall asleep.
