I taught for 18 years in a small rural school on the plains of Colorado. Also I had a friend who was a lot like Bonnie Pinkwater (although a lot nicer). As for the Mathematics, it is not only my profession but also my passion. I do math for entertainment. And for some preverse reason, over the years (I am 57) I have become an expert on historic female mathematicians. I find them fascinating--because of the adversity they had to overcome to compete in a male dominated field. Every Bonnie Pinkwater novel features a different historic female mathematician--plus a few murders.
