The reading of War and Peace became instantly worth it when I read about Natasha Rostov.1500 pages...

I enjoyed this book tremendously. I think the characters were vividly drawn and even the reason for their long ordeal rather ridiculous, but it only increased the appeal. As well, this novel showed the effects of the siege of Leningrad clearly. The reader also walks away with a sense of what the citizens of Leningrad and Russia went through; and an overall impression of Russia during one part of WWII.
