I liked this audio book very much, and I'm not a baseball fan at all. The author has created an interest in the characters and built s sense of suspense. I will probably finish the book.

I think "Moneyball" is the best baseball-and-business book ever written(!!) High praise, for sure--and it is almost as funny as the author's earlier look inside investment banking, "Liar's Poker."

"Moneyball" reinforces the old marketing adage that most truly revolutionary changes in an industry come from outside that industry. (Think Dell, FedEx, etc.) It seems that "inside players" tend to improve things only incrementally, while a Michael Dell comes along and starts selling PCs via direct response out of his college dorm room. Where were Compaq and IBM?Similarly, "Moneyball" analyzes why many of the crusty-old baseball "truisms" aren't so true at all. A wonderful, funny, and perceptive book!

Based on the excerpts I have enjoyed through this book club, I think this book is enjoyable, well written, and contains a wealth of information about business analysis that is outside of the box. While it is well down on my personal read list, I think it is a laudable ressource.
