It does start out pretty fast and exciting. HOpe it
continues this way..will look for it tomorrow and I
plan to order it from the Library. Not always do I
enjoy mysterys by women writers....but I try them before I decide to continue or quit.

Good Start

I read a Karen Harper novel last summer and really enjoyed it. Even had a few chilling moments...this one looks to be good as well.

I like the start of this book. I feel hooked already. It is easy to imagine the fear in Claire as she discovers her husband is missing. Can't wait for tomorrow for the next part.

The Falls

It has my attention, especially since I have always thought it would be fun to own a bed and breakfast. The disappearance of her husband in the middle of the night is intriguing.

I think you're right.

I think she does remind the sheriff of his wife. Do you think Claire's husband turns out to be a cad? Will she then fall in love with the sheriff? A little love interest never hurts.

Can't get into it

April 13 2004, 1:05 PM

Normally I love mysteries set in Washington, but this one first got me confused because geographically it isn't located near anything real. I found some of the description to be too much, I really didn't care if the lead female put on underwear...why bother putting that in?

good description

April 15 2004, 9:19 AM

A "cad" - I haven't heard that word in a while. =) I think the synopsis does lead us to belive that the husband has some sort of suspicious past of which the wife is completely oblivious. I'm curious to know what that is...

Weird thing....I got this book out of the library this past Sunday, before it came on the book club!!

I'm enjoying the book. I'm about 3/4 of the way through it and still don't know the "who done it" part of the story. She keeps you on the edge of your seat, guessing who you can trust.....

I feel distant

April 15 2004, 6:24 PM

I feel too distant from the characters in this book to really get involved. I'll admit to wanting to know the secrets Keith has hidden, but if I got this from the library, I'd probably just read the end, to find out what happened.

The book was ready to pick up at the bookmobile yesterday so I'll pick up where it left off in today's installment. I'm curious to find out who's behind the thick foliage.
