A funny, moving, wise, and powerful tale of a family’s struggle to understand their own son -- who is either crazy or blessed -- not unlike the Cold War America in which they live.

Interesting

I loved the beginning, I am hooked. I may actually learn what I missed by not having a first communion too.

Confused

I apparently didn't receive the first installation and the 2nd reading surprised me. One moment Lauren is having a seemingly normal inquisitive conversation with her father, the next she is thinking of images of bloody saints and funny feelings. That twist took me for a loop. Now the two brothers, Henry who seems to be withdrawn and creative and Winston who thus far is violent and possibly suffering from a psychiatric disorder. So far, unsure of the direction this is taking. Look forward to tomorrows reading.

This has my attention. I actually missed my first communion with my class - measles. But made it a few months later with another girl who had the measles also.

I read the first and second chapter and I want more! I want to know what happened next, when did the baby die? I just can't wait so I can catch up to everyone else.
