I'm excited to start this one...

Hi all! I have to say that when I saw this week's horror title I nearly jumped off of my seat. I spend a lot of time in my local bookstore; most of my time is spent in the horror section because I just love a good horror/thriller novel and wouldn't you believe it, this book always catches my eye. I've toyed with buying it before, but I am just never sure about this one (I don't know why) - so now I'll get to preview it. I hope it's a good enough read that it'll find its way into my shopping bag later this week. All right, I'm jazzed - bring on the chills (hopefully...)! :-)

Don't waste your time

I read this book several years ago and it was just goofy. I'm a huge fan of the masterful Dean Koontz, so maybe I'm spoiled, but if you're looking for a serious horror book, skip this one. If you're ready for an absurd tale that's mildly disturbing, then go for it.

Hmmmm....

Well, I have to admit that the writing style isn't catching me at all. It isn't very descriptive and reads a little more like a screenplay/script than a novel. Just the same, I'll allow it another few days before I make any final opinions but I can see a strong possiblity that this might not live up to be the book I thought it would be. We'll see - the premiss is a good one, it'd be a shame for it to go awry...

I'm not too fond of this one myself...it hasn't been the greatest week for me and I found reading about the Omegas particularly disturbing. The writing didn't capture me either but I am curious to see how the Alphas retaliate.

I'll be skipping this class...

Oh Well. It was a great idea for a story but the writing just didn't capture me and I felt like the story was dragging in parts; I'm not sure if that was done intentionally or not but it started bugging me. Well, at least I know now whether or not to spend any more time looking at it in the bookstore.
