Teen Book Club The Afterlife by Gary Soto Buy book: $10.73
A young man is murdered, but that's just when his life becomes interesting as he finally sees that people love him. He the faces the consequences of his actions and even stumbles on what may be true love.
I didn't get Monday's chapter until Tuesday, so I was able to read both straight through. "WOW" is right. I like that the story happens right away, it gets you hooked. So curious to know what happens next.
This is a really interesting book!!
I think he should follow around the guy with yellow shoes and see why he killed him.
I don't completely understand why someone would kill somebody for saying something about their shoes.
Maybe he was having a very bad day.
Really loving this weeks book.
Oh and Reigh, that is a very usefull piece of information.
The story is kind of slow now, I'm more curious about his murder and maybe what he is going to do with his new "life". And what is with all the quotation marks around the "ethnic" words? It's driving me "nuts"!
Haven't started reading Afterlife yet- I'm behind!- but I just wanted to say that the Amy book ended at a really bad spot! I want to check that out, totally. But I'm swamped with books right now and don't have time for it. Also I think it's handy how they say what page it ends on. That's handy. I said that, didn't I? Ha ha.
I really enjoy books like this one. Does anyone else like Christian fiction? I love it, but it's hard to find a good book with characters that aren't too starchy and safe. I stumbled across a book like this one on, it was called The Silver Cord Cimmerian Dawn Anyway, it's nice to read about things that make you think!
