Great Book

July 14 2004, 5:26 PM

I just finished reading this book aloud with my daughter and it is GREAT! Totally fascinating, you just can't wait to find out what will happen next. And it has some good laugh-out-loud parts.

Things Not Seen

I am really enjoying the book! I am hooked on it. Even though I haven't finished it, I can't wait to see how it turns out. All three of us were extremely excited when we heard that you were making a sequel.

We are doing a school assignment, and the three of us are studying you. Some books that we are planning on reading are Janitors Boy, Report Card, The Jacket, Lunch Money, School Story, Landry News and Last Holiday Concert. If you could write back to us and give us more information about yourself that would be great........thanks a lot for your time!!!!!!!!!!!

Good 1st Chapter

July 19 2004, 9:32 AM

I havn't read this book- I've just read the first chapter via my email. It seems like a good book- although you'd think the kid who can't see himself in the mirror would be a BIT more scared, you know.

July 22 2004, 10:18 AM

I just joined this book club thing yesterday, so I missed the 1st chapter! I love the author Andrew lements, especially Frindle, The Janitor's Boy, and The School Story! This one is good so far too, even though I've only read the second chapter.... Does anyone know any websites where I could read the 1st chapter?

Bridin, 11

Can't wait for tommorrows read

July 19 2004, 11:50 AM

I like the start. If people can be invisible it would be cool. If you are in trouble you could just be invisible and no one could find you. Maybe Bobby would cause some trouble. He could play tricks.I think i will like this book. If anyone knows any method to be invisible please share it with me i would like to get that method.

Good

July 19 2004, 3:27 PM

This book is really good so far, and is living up to my expectations even thought it is only the 1st segment. I always have liked Andrew Clements' writing style, and have read most of his books. I would recommend his other books to people if they like this. His most famous is Frindle, but there are many others like The Landry News, or The Janitor's Boy. They are all very good. I'll keep up my high hopes for this one, which he seems to be writing at a higher reading level then the others he has written.

Keep up the good reading + writing-

This book is great!

July 20 2004, 9:45 AM

I think this book is great. Though I never read the whole thing, I was reading it in my e-mails. I think it is really cool though I would never want this book to become true in my life!

Awesome

July 20 2004, 2:32 PM

This book is great! I was just searching the Calgary Public Library website and found the ONline BOok club, and since I needed more books to read I decided that this would be a great way to find good books. I'm really enjoying this book because it's not a "freaked-out-scared" kind of book but it's a funny book that has a higher reading level. I have read Frindle, The Lundry News and The Janitor's boy and now I know that this book will be amazing because Andrew Clements wrote it.

Still Good

July 20 2004, 1:55 PM

I still think this book is great, even though it is only the second section. I really like the characterizations of the dad and the mom. They are underreacting, I think, because it really has not yet set in how serious this is. They were probably right not to tell anyone, because everybody would never leave them alone, and they were right about the government. They would come in and try to make it a weapon for the army, which they really don't need.

Until later-

Still Great

July 22 2004, 10:36 AM

This book is still awesome. I like how he is sneaking in science without it being that boring, and there is another thought who is putting it in normal teenager thoughts. This author really knows how teenager's think. Too bad there is only one more section left, but I am getting this at the book store, or at the library for sure.

I'll write tomorrow-

I love Andrew clements! He is truly a great author. This book is maybe written in a more serious tone than his previous books (Frindle, The School Story), but it still doesn't lose its power to make the reader attached to the book.

Andrew Clements IS a really great author! It seems like this book is for older ages then most he's written, but it's at least as good as them.... Now I really want to buy it and I'll tell you if I do!

Heaven Eyes

July 22 2004, 11:41 PM

Hi guys. I just wanted this message to reach out to all yall in the book club thingy. I got HEAVEN EYES from the library, the book we read a couple weeks ago. I don't know if anyone liked it, but I sure didn't. I mean there were some parts that had their strengths, and I liked the characters, I just think the book didn't make much sense. It didn't seem like it had a story or anything. Write back if any of you guys have read it and what you thought of it.

I like the parts with the science, it's interesting and a necessary part of the story. I wonder how he will meet the girl, I mean, I guess he eventually wanders outside.

Awesome

July 24 2004, 11:12 AM

This book is awesome. I cannot wait to get this book out of the library. I bet it gets even better, once he leaves the house. I hope it does, because that would be a very, very good book. The author has a great style, and it is interesting. I hope next weeks book can live up to this one. I'll get the book out and post here how it turns out (in terms of liking or not liking). I'll post it on that I read it on the current board, so check the current board ocassionally.

Happy reading-

I really like this book! It is not only fantacy story. I think this is realism as the problems in this story are really likely to happen. It teachs us that when something happen there is always any consequence and it might need responsibility of someone.
