I can't wait!

July 16 2004, 10:18 AM

I just have to say that I cannot wait for Monday! I've been hooked on Steve Hamilton since "A Cold Day in Paradise". He is an absolutely fabulous writer.

If you haven't read any of his novels, I highly, highly recommend you add him to your reading list.

It's not strictly necessary to read his novels in order, since each book stands on its own, but it does help to get to know the characters and establish a timeline for various events.

Michigan Native

Yay! A book about Michigan! It's very rare that I find a book that takes place in my home state. His description of the snow - right on! I'll definitely give this one a try. Oh yes - and I recommend a vacation to the wonderful Upper Peninsula to see the vastness and beauty of Lake Superior!

Suspense

July 20 2004, 2:34 PM

I love Steve Hamilton's books. I read them all, except this one(not yet). He is a great author. His books have suspense, great characters, and even humour. I can really feel the cold and the snow the way he describes it.

UP

July 21 2004, 11:04 AM

I just returned from Paradise Michigan a week ago and have been there many times over the past 25 years. It's what I call God's country. So refreshing to see an Author write about what I've witnessed first hand - plus include a mystery to boot.

I agree

July 23 2004, 9:35 AM

I was interested in the book immediately since I am a mystery book reader. I have never read any of his books so I was anxious to find a new author that keeps me glued to the pages. As I read I was waiting for the mystery and suspense to start. Now I have to go buy the book or get it from the library.

Great locale

July 21 2004, 3:32 PM

It is great to see an author write about a different location. Many mysteries happen in big cities such as New York or LA. It is also nice to see him mention Canada often which is where I'm from.

Found 3 of his books -

July 31 2004, 12:35 PM

Was hoping to read them in order but now don't think that is really necessary - seems he fills you in with bit and pieces of last adventure - and one book I found was LARGE PRINT - so last nite started that one as my eyes were TIRED -
