This book has promise. I think it'll keep me interested and hooked to the end. It will be very suspenseful.

I really enjoy these books about books and the publishing world. This one promises to be multi-layer with it's "Stephen Wolf" type plot. I look forward to the rest of the week.

I'm really enjoying this book. It starts out very promising. I like the style of writing. Fast paced and interesting characters. Plus the mystery of the manuscript. I'll going today to get this book.

Here again, not what I thought...

September 13 2004, 1:29 PM

Here is another one which held such high Ideals and promise that quickly denigrated into pulp. The "Steppenwolf" type plot along with the intimate glimpse into the publishing world was a good idea. However, Ms.Gutteridge lost me with her serial killer subplot. I know that faith is a challenge and a journey, but too much of this kind of obligatory scenario prevails in the modern novel...

Oh well, I'll go on to " Waiting for snow in Havana" and " Something rising". These too comes from the bookclub/Thanks chapter a day for The chance to sample many different kinds of books.
