Fiction Book Club Night of the Radishes by Sandra Benitez Buy book: $16.06
From critically acclaimed author Benitez comes a compelling novel that takes one woman on a journey from Minnesota to Mexico in a search that tests her marriage, uncovers family secrets, and forces her to discover who she truly is.
I am very interested in this book after only one day. What an unfortunate childhood this woman experienced. It's going to be good to know where she is headed and how she gets there. So I await tomorrow's read. Oh yes, then there is the fact that I live in the twin cities where the book starts.
Suzanne,
Thank you so much for your generous comments about Night of the Radishes. I hope you enjoy the rest of the book as well. Your support means a lot to me.

I really like this....but it is only day 1. I especially like the author's writing style....very easy for me to get into. Am looking forward to seeing if the rest of the week holds my attention. If I like it will have to get at the library. Under no circumstances can another new book come into this house(!!!) I also like the pre-pub selection so far so that means 2 books to add to the never-ending list.....
Dear Linda,

As a mother and a woman I find this book very interesting. After only two excerpts I know I must finish this book. If not only to hear another "good girls" pain.

I had this one reserved at the library after Monday's read. I'm finding it to be totally engrossing and keeps me wondering what's gonig to happen next. It will be very interesting to see what happens as we continue with this book.

This is my first on-line book club experience and I am so hooked. What a great thing for me with 3 jobs (1 full time, 2 part time) and grad school. It's just perfect for me to sit down for 10 minutes and enjoy. Love it.
About the book... I know that I will have to finish this one and it's killing me to stop at the end of Day 2. The pain she is feeling and the losses she has experienced...strong women are such an inspiration to me. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Dear Jennifer,
How do you do it. 3 jobs, grad school, the rest of your life! But Suzanne makes it easy for us busy busy people to keep up with reading. Thank you so much for your comments about Night of the Radishes. It means so much to me that you wrote. I hope you enjoy the rest of the book.

I agree, this looks like a winner. The writing is fabulous. Honestly, I was hooked at the prologue. I wonder how many people have felt the way she described? It's been a while for me (thank goodness!) but boy, do I remember it!
I, too, need to add this one to the never-ending library list. Ack -- one of these days it will get manageable!

I really like this. And tho' you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, I think the cover of this is very cool-looking. I missed the first read of this but it got my interest very quickly anyway.

After finishing the read today (Friday) I now know that I most definitely need to read the rest of this book! The emotions are depicted so realistically that it just sucks you in and kept me enthralled to the very end of the read.
I want more!! :)

So enjoyed what I have read of this book I am definitely going to find it and buy it! The mood the author sets in the Prologue grabbed me ... I knew whatever came after that would be just my kind of "sit down, curl up, and read a good story" day.

I like the easy-to-read manner that leads this book. The characters are likeable and the trasitions are smooth. I have already placed my copy on hold at the library and anxiously awaiting to turn each page.
Congratulations to the author. I've never read any of her books before and will keep an eye out for future work.
