Horror Book Club A Choir of Ill Children by Tom Piccirilli Buy book: $5.39
From the Bram Stoker Award-winning author comes a lyrical tale of evil, loss, and redemption in the Southern gothic tradition of Flannery O'Connor and Harry Crews.
None of the previous horror selections have affected me quite as much as this one. As I'm reading I'm thinking Oh my god how disturbing! I like horror but I've never read one like this one. It reminds me of an old X-files episode of the inbreeding deformed brothers with their mother living under the bed. It gives me the creeps.
I knew it had reminded me of something and that's exactly what it was. At times I'm finding this so disturbing and at other times I'm completely enthralled.
While I doubt I'll be checking this book out after this week, I'm enjoying the excerpts so far. Definitely gives my imagination a good workout!

The hapless man, who feels the book-disease..."

of what i've read so far, this is going to be an edge-of-your-seat novel. the characters so far are slightly bizarre, and they can't go anywhere but up (on the bizarre scale). i can't wait for tomorrow's excerpt...i'm sure it's going to be interesting!!
