The first two segments

December 21 2004, 2:05 PM

After reading the first two segments, the book has no real flow. It starts out with one seen and then jumps to another as if it is tell two stories in one.

The sexual descriptions do nothing for the reader. It is very plunt and there is no foreplay. As a reader, I would like fore play and then the climax.

I will read next weeks segment and see if I wish to continue.

Okay, Now the scene is coming into view. I'm still disapposinted that the first two segmnts leave you wondering where the book is going.

I will continue to read the final segments because now I'm interested.

Wrong Book!!!!!!!!!!!

December 21 2004, 5:41 PM

I don't know I'm usually into romance books. I enjoy reading them but this one I just can't seem to get into it. I agree with the other person that this book has no flow. I feel like I can't relate to the characters. I don't know I mean I tried reading both segment but can't get into it. Maybe someone else will like it and that's great but as for me I wouldn't recommend it.

I agree with Mellyora!
I like stories that slowly lead up to things.
I will continue to read the next installments but I don't think this will be a book I'll read.

I can't even figure out who most of these people are. I deleted the first installment and now wish I could go back and see which of the characters were in that first scene.

I won't be bothering to find this at the library.

This is the 4th book in a series. In order to understand these characters I feel that you must read the other books first. You have to understand what happened to Brook in the earlier books to understand why she is the way she is. The same way with Mallory.

4th in series

December 24 2004, 10:46 AM

It should not matter that this book is a fourth in the series. Each book should put forth enough interest to get the reader past the first couple of pages and become intertangled so that they become interested enough to go back and read the other three books.

The first two reads for this book definitely did not have me at hello. Not to say that I'm inspired to go back and read the other three books now. This is just my take on reviewing books that may possibly find themselves being caressed in my hands for some interesting reading.

Disjointed

December 24 2004, 12:47 PM

I agree...this story does not flow. After the last installment I feel like I am missing something. Has he visited her before? Or has it been a year since they met on the cliffs? I am confused and feel like the book skipped a year and we are supposed to "know" what happened.

Not a book I will be purchasing.

Just not my cup of tea

I agree with the others, this is not a book that I would read, it is very hard to follow.

I have read other books that barbara has wrote, she has this same style, just not a big fan of her style of writing.

I normally get wrapped up in the characters when I read a romance novel, hard to do with this one.
