Just a note to Nelson fans: be sure to add Susan Sontag's Volcano Lover to your reading list. It is a wonderful portrait of, among other things, Nelson.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this excerpt, although I find excerpts very frustrating since they end just when the book is beginning to get interesting. I guess this is a credit to the editors of the webpage--but also the reason I only read about one in five of the selections online.
