I couldn't help noticing in the first installment that the return email addresses of the characters' emails were active links.

I wonder how many book club members will be tempted to "respond". ;-)

This must just be optional if you fill in your email address and click on the option to have responses sent to your email?

Options & Straub

March 15 2005, 5:28 AM

Yeah, that's optional.

Straub is the Writer's Writer. His latest, Lost Boy Lost Girl, was very well received and highly lauded by readers & critics alike. From a sort of inconsistent beginning he has matured into an author with a poetic command of language and a bull'seye gift for characterization. That this guy writes thrillers, horror, whatever-you-call-it, is just a fluke; I look past that & enjoy the writing.

already read this one

Yes, I already read this book a couple of months ago, as well as the one before it that had the same Timothy Underhill character. I really like Peter Straub's books and this one was no exception. The premise was fascinating but I won't say anything more about it except that it was worth reading.

Great Book

March 19 2005, 12:16 PM

I have been a long time fan of Peter Straub and I just recently finished reading this book. I would say it is one of his best and the plot is very imaginative....very scary too, as are most all his writings. It helps if you have read the book before this "Lost Boy Lost Girl" but not absolutely necessary. I'll say nothing more except that it is very definitely worth the read, chills and all!

I FIND THAT IN THE NIGHT ROOM IS A LITTLE STRANGFE AT FIRST BECAUSE YOU HOW TO STORY LINE AT FIRST AND THEN THEY BECOME ONE AND YOU STILL THINK IT IS WEIRD. IT IS LIKE YOU ARE IN TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS BUT IT IS REALLY JUST ONE OR IS IT?
