was just curious why rats make u sick. As domesticated pets they are intelligent and very sweet and don't bite like alot of other rodents. They are like miniture puppies. U do like puppies don't you? Was just wondering, and now I think I might have to check this book out. I have owned three rats in my time, among many other pets and they really can be cute little friends. They don't live that long though, maybe three years if you are lucky. You just have to get use to the tail, when they are little. Maybe try it? You might be surprizsed, but I know everything is not for everybody. Just wanted to give you another opionion on their pet ablitities. :)
I can't help myself. I have to get this book. There are so many interesting tidbits in here. (I am happy I don't live in New York City anymore...just thinking of my old tenement apartment on the Lower East SIde is giving me the willies!!)
I didn't think I'd like this one either.
But I even found myself sharing...what can I say, I love educating people in our surrounding biology, not to mention erasing a myth.
Funny, too, last week I was just reading about prairie dogs "rodents, disgusting, yet part of the food chain." (paraphrase) without them where would be our bald and golden eagles.
no wonder New York is in such a state!
(no pun intended)
