Now You See It...
by Vivian Vande Velde
Buy book: $11.40

When her new glasses break, Wendy is all too happy to wear the dorky pair of sunglasses she finds on her lawn. They seem to match her prescription, but the glasses soon correct her vision "too" much as she begins to see such things as cheerful corpses and portals to other worlds.

I love the idea of the story. I'm a bit impatient to get on with it, though.

Now You See It

Even though this book is in the "teen" category, and I'm way past the teen years, I am enjoying this first installment a great deal. I love the writing and can't wait until Wendy finds the "dorky" sunglasses.

I am enjoying this book too. Just wish each bit was longer as I want the story to get going! Main character is really likable. Looking forward to tomorrow's bit.

better and better

I like the main character a lot. I like the way she talks. But I agree, the segments are too short to really feel like you are in the story.

Sarcasm

April 12 2005, 10:23 PM

I love any story that has a sarcastic, main charecter. She's really funny. I think that I'm going to like this story a lot more than the story from last week.

Katie: If you like this book, I think you would love "Who's Your Daddy" by Linda Sandoval. It also has a lot of sarcasm and humor.

Love This Book!

April 13 2005, 11:28 AM

I've always liked Vivian Velde and Now You See It is, in my opinion, her best one yet. The first sentence not only grabs a person's attention but the main charactors way of looking at life makes people want to read more right away. I ordered it from Amazon monday in between reading the first and second paragraph.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion Anne, I'll be sure and look into it. :)

Yeah, I ordered the book after I read the first paragraph. I probably shouldn't just jump into buying a book after only reading a little section, not only a chapter long, but I just have a good feeling about this book. I can't wait until it gets here. :)

I bought the book today

April 14 2005, 9:47 PM

I am enjoying this read so much that I bought the book today. While my son (15) was waiting for me in the car he picked it up and started reading. He only read the first few pages but he thought it was VERY good.

My mom printed these out this week for me. I am really enjoying this book. I have already got it coming from the Library so I get to finish it. I have read Ms Van Velde before but like this the best so far.

Now You See It

April 18 2005, 12:41 PM

There is a movie called "Now You See It" but it is totally different than this story.

Last week I got emails about this book and read up to page 21. It's really good! The only problem is I doubt it's available in the library since I know I'm not the only one in North Carolina who's getting these emails.

I'm 16 (Honors student) and feel I'm a little too old for young adult teen novels.
