The Butterfly Garden by Annette Blair Buy book: $26.69
Amish woman Sara Lapp is shunned for studying to become a midwife. Her first call to tend a birth comes from Mad Adam Zuckerman. But Adam's wife has already died, and Sara learns that Adam called her only to take his children. Adam is afraid he will hurt his children in the way his father hurt him. Without his wife to protect them, Adam must find someone else, and he can think of only one woman brave enough, Sara, whose passion for things beyond her control is greater than is good for her. When Adam is hurt, Sara and his girls move in. When the Bishop insists that they marry or be shunned Sara and Adam face the greatest challenge of their lives.
This book seems interesting. I think that it looks like it will be a good book. The beginning has already hooked me in. Hopefully it will continue in this same manner.
This seems absolutely terrific on just the first day. I've already gone to my library's web page and tried to request it with no luck. I may end up having to buy it. I'm already fascinated by the characters. Thanks for a great pick, Suzanne.
Just from the first 2 passages this seems like a heart wrenching book to read. It's got me hooked too. I'm going to check the library to see if it is available.
I have to say This is Only the second day of reading this book and my anticipation to find out whats going to happen is just throught the roof. i can't belive what a good romance novel this is turning out to be. It's got me in tears.
The feelings this book evokes are intense. The emotions of the characters come across so clearly that I feel a little exhausted from reading them. Don't think the heart pulling will stop me from reading more because it won't. I know I'm going to have to read their whole story.
This story line is just so intriguing! Adam Zuckerman is so believable with his gruff ways. And it is so well written. The words paint the picture so vividly. I'm not goint to wait for tomorrow's read. I plan to get this book on my way home tonight.
What a heartbreaking way to end the week's reads! The little girl asking why her mom couldn't feed the little sister with mommie's milk brought tears to my eyes.
I am hooked - will definitely have to get this book.
