Start your engines...I'm excited to be part of this forum and happy to answer any questions about reading, romance, writing or racing. Killer Curves was a "book of my heart" -- I hope you enjoy Beau & Celeste as much as I enjoyed creating their story. I promise you DON'T have to be a NASCAR fan...I wasn't when I started writing. But I admit I've become hooked...buckle up!

This book seems to have an interesting beginning. Hopefully it will continue to be a good book. I look forward to reading the next couple of installments to decide whether or not I will read it to the end.

From the Author

I have to say from the first installment that my interests are piqued. My husband and I watch NASCAR, but that's not what first reeled me in. I love the main female character from the first couple sentences. I'm looking forward to the rest of the week.

Go back to the Library

Did you know you can request that your library buy the book so you can check it out?
They have a fund for new books.
Ask your librarian to order "Killer Curves" if they don't have it.
You help everyone out. The author and anyone else who comes looking for it later.

I'm a big believer in your nieghborhood library…pinching pennies

Thanks for your enthusiasm, readers! I can't wait for you to meet the hero -- he's my personal favorite part of the book. And, yes, definitely ask your librarian for the book -- it's in most library systems. Enjoy!

I'm hooked!

September 14 2005, 1:58 PM

The hero's name is Beau and he has semisweet chocolate-brown eyes!!! I'm hooked now.

Seriously, I'm really liking this one. I enjoyed the opening scene because of the snappy dialog between the women who are obviously good friends.

More, more!

I wonder

September 14 2005, 7:52 PM

I am loving this so far....but I have a question. Does Celeste know Beau before and have a history with Beau or something...because she is making a real big deal out of seeing Beau. Or is it just a fan's obsession or what???

celeste and beau

September 15 2005, 10:18 AM

Thanks for the questions and emails! To answer, Celeste knows who Beau is because he is connected to a man who harbors a deep secret about her. Her response has nothing to do with his fabulous racing career, and everything to do with worrying about whether or not he's in her world to reveal her secret. As we soon find out, he is...

So glad you're enjoying the story!

Q & A Roxanne St. Claire

September 15 2005, 6:54 AM

Hi Roxanne,

Welcome to the dear reader forum. I think that it is a great thing that you took time out to chat with us this week.

How did you come up with the names of your characters - Beau & Celeste? Are they based on people you know? Is any of the story based on your life, or on people you know?

character names

September 15 2005, 10:25 AM

Mahairi (a beautiul name!) asked about the names of Beau and Celeste. My friend from grade school was the first (and for many years)only female racing fan I ever knew and her initials are CB. I picked Celeste Bennett to honor that lifelong friendship and also because I think the name Celeste is gorgeous and elegant. Later in the book, she "changes" her identity and has to choose another name, so she picks "Cece" which is different from her formal name, but not a stretch. When she steps into "Cece's" shoes, she changes...a lot. There's a theme about 'who you are' and 'who you think you are' in this story, so the names were important to me. And Beau? I just thought it is sexy and southern! You'll find that Beau is a made up name, too -- his real name is Garrett, and again, "real" versus "perceived" identity is a strong part of the storyline. Enjoy!
