God Is Closer Than You Think

I'm looking forward to where this book is giong. I'm not familiar with this author. I wonder if he is related to Joel.

what an awesome truth:

"The central promise in the Bible is not 'I will forgive you. The most
frequent promise is 'I will be with you."

i didn't think i was familiar with the author, but in reading the short bio i do recognize his name from the old testament challenge.

i think this book is great. i may actually go out and buy this one. i love the fact that he draws on a variety of men and women of faith. love this quote from Brother Lawrence:

"Spiritual growth, in a sense, is simply increasing our capacity to
experience the presence of God." Brother Lawrence wrote, "The most
holy and necessary practice in our spiritual life is the presence
of God. That means finding constant pleasure in His divine company,
speaking humbly and lovingly with him in all seasons, at every moment,
without limiting the conversation in any way."
