This writer is so powerful with adjectives and scene building, that I was truly gripped by the passage I read. I have never been this completely transported to a scene in a book before!
hi, i was somewhat disappointed inthis book. i actually purchased the book prior to joining this book club, and got about a 1/4 thru, and put it down,. i just got bored. i may pick it up and try agsain, but overall i have read much better fantasy. its not horribly written, or anything, but just isnt engaging enough, like other writers in this genre, such as RR Martin, or Jordan, or Goodkind.
I had actually purchased this book before joining also. However I disagree with the previous post. I thought this was a good book. I thought that intially it was a little slow but it picked up considerably as the story evolved. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I found it very entertaining.
I liked this book excerpt enough to decide to get it and read the rest of the book. I might have bought it, but after reading the different comments, I'll settle for the library. Thanks!
The 1st day of reading gets your attention. The next few days do bring out the curiosity in me. I like the little bit of knowledge of the knight falling out of grace and it makes you wonder what happened. It has the potential for an interesting ability to flashback to times when Tylar was a night. I may be reading too much into it, but will probably get it out of the library.
