I read a book from this author about a fireman that was great, so I'm glad to be able to learn more about her current book we're reading. Was it just me or did the Nonna character have a his and her terminology. I thought it was the grandpa. It seemed to me that when he was in the hospital they referred to him as a she. I may have just read it too fast. The beginning is a bit slow but I know it has a lot of promise since I've read books from this author before and they've turned out to be some of my favorites.

This books is already a really good read! I just wanted to clarify something, in the prolog the grandfather dies and in the first chapter the grandmother is in the hospital. The grandmother is the little girl that was leading the grandfather down the hall in the prolog.

I think that the "Nonno" referred to the grandfather who took the young granddaughter to safety in a time of peril. The "Nonna" is that granddaughter in her later years whose name is actually Antonia.
Does anyone have any other ideas. I am sure these "questions" will be answered upon reading the complete story.
I am anxious to check this one out. The mystery is keeping me on the edge of my seat...can't wait for the next continuance...unless I can check out the book before then....
i am going to go to the library and see if they have this book to read. i can't afford to just buy a lot of books and find that if the library has them for free i can then read and return them and get the next one.
