With a vast cast of characters and nationalities, twists of fate, and tales of inspired leadership, the author perfectly captures the world of the superb military leader of Carthage, the legendary Hannibal.

Wow. This may be a first!

This is the first time I can recall that NO ONE has commented on a fiction book by Wednesday! I'm guessing most people figured it was not their style and hit delete, as Suzanne always recommends. I almost did, myself. Frankly, I expected to hate it. I'm glad I didn't, and I'm surprised at my reaction. I'm not sure I will finish it, but it's interesting, nonetheless!

Thanks Suzanne! (And your wonderful employees!)

Also, WOW!

I'm new to the forum, and have been "too busy to read" for years. I actually deleted the last 2 weeks' offerings after the first couple of days, but . . .

This Has Me Captivated! I love the way that the author just grabs you up and carries you into the story! I'm a historical "fiction" fan and truly enjoy authors that provide a face and tangibility to what is very important, although sometimes very dry, history.

Love It! Definitely gonna finish it! :o)

Rome

I am not really a historical fiction fan, but this book reminds me of the HBO series "Rome", the TV series is breathtaking, I am looking forward to seeing the next season, not sure when the next season would be on though.

Actually, I loved this read. I'm a huge fan of historical fiction and I found the characters and early plot engaging. I'll be looking for this one in the library!

...I love historical fiction, but this one just didn't click with me. A shame, too, since I'd love to read more about this period of history.
