I love it already. I have to put her other books on my reading list. She knows how to write.

I almost bought this book last week, but decided to wait as I have a whole stack of books to get through. I'm so glad this book is this week's selection so I can check it out. So far so good!!
Has anyone read her first book?

A Girls' Guide

I read a Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing (her first book. I remember that I enjoyed it and passed it along to someone else, but I don't remember very much about the plot, except that the title is in reference to hunting and fishing for love.

The style was very similar though, and it was a quick read.

I have so enjoyed this book this week...it has brought more than a few smiles to my face and I can remember being 12 all over again. It seems so authentic. I'd really like to read this book and any others she may have written. Just love the author's "voice"!!!

Loved this book and loved the first one. There is something about her writing that is very touching-----Although I am much older than the heroine, I identify with her struggles.

The Wonder Spot

I checked the book out from the library and began reading it. It may be good for very light reading, but I found myself feeling bored with it and wanted something to read with more substance. I especially enjoy reading about other cultures, and am now reading Memoirs of a Geisha, which to me is much more interesting.

I have read many young adult books (including many about twelve year old girls) that were much more interesting than The Wonder Spot. Sorry, but that's my reaction to it.
