Mad about Jack
by Gayle Kasper
Buy book: $26.68

Sophisticated Holly Hanford inherited her father's used car lot, which she has built into a classy business of previously owned lovelies. Then Jack Murdock comes to town and starts up his own lot, "Mad Jack's." When Holly's cars are vandalized, she's certain this is Jack's doing. Jack thinks Holly takes life - and work - too seriously. He's not out to ruin her business - he made his money on Wall Street - but his small business across from Holly's definitely has its advantages. Jack doesn't want Hanford Motors. He wants Holly, but proving that to her lands Jack in one hell-to-pay situation after another. Still, he's not about to give up on the woman he wants.

Not Sure

I can't for the life of me figure out why the author would choose a used car salesman as her hero. I mean they are so smarmy. When I think of used car salesmen I don't don't think sexy, wanna get to know man. I mean for crying out loud she had him in orange plaid. I'm gonna run fast from this one.

Tracey, you read my mind! Used car salesmen are NOT appealing. And, this one dresses like a clown! Not a hero that would get me all fired up! I'll pass.

Well, I for one love the idea. The story's descriptive enough to easily bypass the plaid jacket. Not all car salesmen are undesireable. I will be either purchasing this book or picking it up from the library.

A "Real" man would never ever wear an orange plaid jacket....for any reason. Especially to sell used cars. It just makes him seem less of a MAN.

I like it...

Can't see the problem with a used car saleman for a hero! Gosh, the guy makes her bells ring and the gal makes his ring.........so, here is a neat competition...car sales....I am going to read it in its entirety....am sure the attraction will keep me riveted.

After 21 pages, I am completely uninterested in these characters. I agree with the earlier posts - I can't get past the mental image of a cheesy car salesman. I think I'll pass on this one.
