I've been wanting to read this book for a long time. I've read several of Bernard Cornwell's novels; he's a great historical fiction writer. Looking forward to the read!

This extract has really whetted my appetite for the book. I can't wait to find out what happens to Utred. I'm not entirely unfamiliar with this part of England, having travelled up the west coast to Hadrians wall then over to the east coast and back south, so can envisage the landscape and picture the events.
