In this sequel to "The Pact," investment banker/detective Rachel Benjamin heads to Boston, where she plans to squeeze in quality time with her promising new boyfriend. Things change when Rachel's friend is attacked, perhaps by a serial killer on the loose.
I was really looking forward to this book and read it as soon as it came out. I was kind of disappointed with it. Although it had the same characters it didn't have the same feel as her first book.
The strength of The Pact was the strong bonds between the friends. Since the friendships were mainly playing a background role in the Jinx the story was kind of flat.
I'm anxious to get into this one. I really enjoyed the narrative from the homeless man's perspective. I thought it was really clever, not what one expects. Hopefully this will be an indication of the remainder of the story.
After yesterday's read I honestly thought it was going to be one worth reading...
Although, when I finished today, I was left flat so to speak. It just didn't keep my interest. I will of course wait till the last day until I make my final decision on it.
This one is really going downhill to me. I loved the first installment but I'm beginning to lose interest in the story. Something "mysterious" better happen soon.
I felt this story dragging after reading today's installment. There was too much confusing and detailed talk about the stocks and not enough action going on.
