The Secret Lives of Fortunate Wives by Sarah Strohmeyer Buy book: $15.56
From the creator of the inimitable, zany sleuth Bubbles Yablonsky comes a witty, wild, and shocking tale about love suburban-style in a gated community in Hunting Hills, Ohio.
I am NOT a "Desperate Housewives" fan and was not even going to read today's installment but I decided to give it a try and it wasn't too painful. It was actually even enjoyable. I'm still skeptical though and will have to take it day by day.
I also am not a fan of the Desperate Housewives tv show, but I was intrigued by the title of this book, and tickled by the first installment. I like it so far for the same reasons that I like the Ya Ya Sisterhood and The Nanny Diaries. It's a hoot so far. I look forward to the rest of the week, but so far, I think it is one I will order and finish.
Thanks, Suzanne!
I agree that I'm not that into Desperate Housewives or fluffy novels, but I opened my mind for a minute and I've somehow been sucked in. I'll be reading along for the rest of the week.
Yes ma'am I'm with you this one. Just read the 2nd installment and it very attention grabbing. Hmm.. Maybe I need some ADD meds?
I can't wait to read the rest. I just might have to check this one out at the library. I love reading how the other half lives and secret lives that envelope their world.
I was hooked daily. Seems to be very simply written, but the dialogue kept me hooked. It is difficult to write dialoge and I was intrigued. Looks like a great summer beach read!
I really loved the Bubbles mysteries (if you haven't read them, DO!). They cracked me up, even though I paid very little attention to the actual mysteries and more to the sideways humor in the stories. So far, Secret Lives looks like it'll be just as good.
