The character's name seems very familiar but not the author's. Does anyone know if this is a serial character?

The charcters in this book are connected they are featured in several of the authors former books. Ms Garwood mostly writes historical novels but her journey into mystery writing is very good. I'm not much into historical novels. So I don't know wether there very good or not.

Disappointing

I've read almost all of Julie Garwood's historical romances and liked most of them a lot. Unfortunately, her romantic thrillers are not nearly the same quality. I have not read this one but I did read the others and was very, very disappointed in them all. I'll be deleting this one. Just my opinion.

By the way, Kristi, I believe these books are a series of a sort. The female characters are all different but the main male characters in the books are all brothers Buchanan or friends of the brothers. I don't think you need to read them in order.

Slow Burn -

Looks to be an interesting enough read to check out from my library - not enough yet to know where it's going, but am willing to give it a shot - have not read anything by this author and am always looking for a new mystery writer -

And I always like a "good ol' southe'n book" - as I originated from
"southern soil" - takes me back to my roots -

Like the McKenna sisters

I especially liked the beginning of this novel with the patriarch getting ready to divide his money...and his choice of Kate, the entrepreneur to be the one who inherits the most money!

Then on to the art show in the tent ....with Kate pulling off her wonderbra and heaving it just as the explosion hits the grounds......yes, I am going to go looking for this book....once again, some southern voice to it and I do love that....and a good mystery.

I agree with this

I preferred her historical romances than her new romantic/contemporary thrillers. I just got more hooked into the old stuff than this new stuff she's been writing. The bride series was awesome!
