This book is one you should absolutely put in your "to be read" pile. It is one of the very best books I've read in the past couple years. Athol Dickson weaves a story that is spell binding and that will capture your heart. I highly recommend it!!
I'm really enjoying this one so far. I've never read any of this author's books, but I'm putting this one on my list to finish. His descriptions of Louisiana are so good I can smell the swamp and feel the humidity from here!
I wholeheartedly agree with the previous 2 comments! I will be finishing this one sometime as well. The description is superb, creating a perfect mood.
I like the descriptions of the LA swampland...the Mississippi community, Pilotville, too. The lead character appears to be in that area for a personal reason that we have not discovered in these first pages. Yes, I want to read more and have written this down to finish. I have a small, spiral notebook that I write the new books/authors in to try to find at the bookstore or to get from the library. I do like that his character is a preacher, too. I could almost join in singing with all of the church folk in today's excerpt...I only wished it didn't end there...gotta go get that book!
