The Seven Minute Difference

September 17 2006, 10:39 PM

I just read the first e-mail from Suzanne about this book. I started thinking differently when I finished reading, about how small changes can lead to big one....the ripple effect. When I first read Stephen Coveys Seven Habits it was an eye opener and now when I read the brief on this book I get the same feeling. I am eager to read this book in total. Several stragtegies in business are focussed on continuous improvement using small steps. I am just getting excited about the concept if micro-actions.

Well begun is half done. This is my first response to the book under reference. Seven minute smay be small time slot but the introdction to the book kindles some hope of change and improvemeentand thereby reveals the importance of micro actions. The lives of vast majority of mankind need small micro actions to change for better.
The introduction to the book is a good motivator and let us hope to change as the book unfolds its wisdom and action plan in the days to come.

Seven Minute difference

The second comment above was authored by me yesterday.
To day I want to reinforce that the introduction to the book is as down to earth as todays chapter about the first succesful attempt to explor Antaricta in the second decade of the last century. The chapter not only explores the leadership and team work qualities to accomplish the near impossible missions, but it also makes the mission relevant to our daily lives. Changing our daily lives, in my opinion, is equally impossible mission as conqurring an occain or a moutain.
While occaions, moutains and even the outer space can be conqurred, the greatest challenge is to change people all over the globe. Fortuntely, this requries, as the auther illustrates, minor changes in our approach and attitude to daily life. But this task is not easy. Had it been so , the task would have been accomplised long back with inputs from great philosophies of the world. Perhaps, as the auther attempts, relating great achievements to day to day challenges offers a solution.

Too simplistic

September 29 2006, 7:22 PM

Does the world really need another "Change Your Life by Following My Simple Plan" book ?

I think not. These books all follow the same trite formula- tell people something they already know (talk to your children-Brilliant!), use the number seven somewhere in the title, collect check.

How boring.
