High Plains Tango by Robert James Waller Buy book: $17.71
High Plains Tango is the hauntingly lyrical story of a small town in the middle of nowhere, a town that forever changed—and was forever changed by—one man.
I had heard that there was a sequel to Waller's "Bridge's of Madison County". It doesn't appear to be this book. Does anyone know if there was a sequel and, if so, what is the name of it.
If I remember correctly this is the 2nd sequel. First was "A Thousand Country Roads". I forget the names, but Carlisle is the son of the photographer and a women he met on a beach in California.
I love to read Robert James Waller. He almost sings to you. This book is no exception.
Beautifully written, so far. I'm already hooked and will go to the library tommorrow; if its checked out, off to the bookstore I'll go! I bought last week's selection The History of Love and am working my way through it. This is the best reading ever! ANd so convenient....thanks Suzanne!!
Oh yes, "Bridges of Madison County" - did love that book and if my memory serves me correctly I read this book also and enjoyed it but was no comparison to "Bridges" - remember also having many "debates" with a friend who did not like "Bridges" at all and thought the woman was immoral and had her sights set on him as soon as he pulled into the drive - and I thought it was a most beautifully written book and had not thought of her as immoral at all - (of course, if my neighbor had that experience I may have had a different opinion)
There is something about it that is just not clicking with me either. I'll usually stick with a book through the week even if I'm not really into it, but I'm going to have to use the delete key on this one.
