Miss Julia Stands Her Ground by Ann B. Ross Buy book: $15.71
"Heavens! Brother Vernon Pluckett blows into town with what he claims is solid proof that Little Lloyd is not the son of Miss Julia's cheatin' (and now dead) husband." --Library Journal.
I am thoroughly enjoying reading this book. I like the way that Miss Julia thinks and I believe that she is an inspiration to all who know her in her little town.
I did find some rather explicit parts to this story...reminded me of a certain ladies meeting in "Fried Green Tomatoes" which is another of my favorite reads. So, I caution my Christian friends to read this with the humor that is intended and try not to be offended by some of the content.
After reading your response, decided to check out this book - believe I have read another book in the series of "Miss Julia" - but don't remember which one - this does sound to be a fun read - I can identify with her climbing those steps with all her joint pains, etc. - glad she got to move downstairs - tho' seems she had to get married to do it - (no pun intended) - LOL -
