I am already hooked on this book. The writing is similar to Iris Johansen in its' usage of adjectives and verbs.

What now - we can't be bothered to make sure we're using apostrophes properly, so we simply remove them all? Not acceptable in a book club!

You go, Dorothea!

Dorothea, I couldn't agree with you more! And I'll bet you loved EATS, SHOOTS, and LEAVES, the perfect book for those of us who still believe that proper punctuation is necessary and required.

As for this week's selection, I can see a train wreck coming, but I can't look away. I have a library copy and it's getting edgier and edgier.

Season of the Snake

I grew up in a small Minnesota town on the Mississippi river. Many a spring we slogged through another season of fish flies (our name for those awful insects) and the first reading of this book, brought back those days for me. It is just as the author describes.
Now, having said that, the first day has my attention and I'll be reading on tomorrow.
This book shows promise.
