Memories

This brings back memories......
My supervising teacher tossed me in as well. I had a good class in a good school and I still felt a bit like waiting for the lions and the the Roman emperor to give a thumbs down.

I like this book so far. I will definitely read this book. I am interested in seeing the movie too. I had heard of the movie, but didn't know what it was about. I know I am hooked when I am looking forward to the next days post!

Lookin' Good!

Tnis is going to be a winner, I can tell. I'll definitely want to finish reading it.

If you like this topic, try Cross-X by Joe Miller. It chronicles a couple of post-2001 years in the life of the debate team of inner-city Central High in Kansas City, MO. Along the way you get a good picture of the antics of the school board and administrators as well as the trials that teachers, parents, and students endured during the post-desegregation years. I lived there at the time and can testify that Miller gets it right.

Really good read

Ironically we had seen the movie Sunday night and then the book was previewed that next week. We really enjoyed the movie but the book is so much more ( as I usually find). The movie was a great tease to an even greater read!!!!
