It happens

As a recent victim of purse theft, I've been scared that my identity would be stolen. So far it hasn't and I've taken all the precautions I can (that I know of ) I'm going to continue to read this one to see how I can better protect myself.

I'm not overly concerned with identity theft but after reading the first installment of this book it's clear I should be a little more cautious.
I think this book is well-written so far.

stealing your life

very timely topic and one that we all should read. I have not had my identity stolen, but I did once have someone use my credit card number. Fortunately the reatiler from which a large purchase was ordered, was suspicious and phoned me right away. Consequently the thief was thwarted very quickly and the credit card (which was in my posession the whole time) was immediatly destroyed and a new one obtained.

It's scary

I've heard the odds are more likely that you will know the identity thief somehow, but the county I live in decided to post all public records on line to be viewed and printed free of charge to anyone. I found my marriage license with our names, b-days, and social security numbers listed. I had to request in writting to have it removed from their web-site. Theives don't always have to pay for the information with helpful government.
