Becca Egan was quickly working her way up the Yes Ladder when A. J. Daye rescued her from a "git it, hit it, and forgit it" lounge lizard. As a pro pickup artist, A. J. knew all the lingo. He even offered to teach Becca more secrets of The Method--a system to woo women from the bar to the bedroom in less time than it takes to say "strawberry-kiwi daiquiri."

So far, this character is not one I’ve been able to identify with. It takes a special kind of stupid to be picked up by a guy wanting to show you a photo of his mother within the first 60 seconds of meeting him. Could he be any more obvious?

If this woman needs an AJ to point out what seems hard to miss, she deserves to be whammed, bammed, thank you maam'd. Her naiveté does not make for a likable character; it only makes her seem juvenile, regardless of her experience level. You can be inexperienced and still capable of using your brain.

So far I haven't "met" a character that I like. Becca has a choice between two idiots. Apparently, she isn't much brighter than the two slimy types.

Nice work, Naomi! This was an entertaining read! Its become more and more commonplace for both women and men to re-enter the dating world after a hiatus and the ensuing drama is often entertaining. Naomi, I think you did a nice job setting up the scene and the characters while still holding my attention. I look forward to reading more!
