I really enjoy reading Lynn Austin's books. She has a series on the Civil War--one book each from the perspectives of a slave girl, a girl from the North, and one from the South. Fascinating!

I've really enjoyed reading the excepts this week. I love historical fiction, I do think I'll get this one!

She is a great author and I have loved every book she has written. I am waiting to read A Proper Proposal.

I'm definitely going to go out and find this book so that I can finish it!

A great book. This one was actually in the local library. I really enjoyed reading about what life was like during that time considering the state of our country now. There was alot more respect for our military and the sacrifices they were making, then is seen in our society today.

My husband has a huge interest in WWII history and we have watched a lot of documentaries and movies about that era. Once I started reading this book, I realized that everything I've learned about WWII was from the male perspective. It was *WONDERFUL* reading about it from the female perspective. I worked in a very male-dominated occupation at one point in my life, and found it was sometimes difficult to be accepted - I can't imagine trying to do it over 60 years ago! Those girls had guts! I hadn't read any of Lynn Austin's books before, but as soon as I finished, I went online to reserve another from my library.
