When a new highway threatens to bypass the town of Rossmore and cut through Whitethorn Woods, everyone has a passionate opinion about whether the town will benefit or suffer. But young Father Flynn is most concerned with the fate of St. Ann's Well, a spiritual mecca in the path of the planned construction.

I read this book on audio sometime last year and I just loved it. The changes in perspective from one narrator to the next is a wonderful development tool, expecially considering that every resident is involved in eachother's lives so intricately and in what is going on in town.
If you are too busy to pick up the book, by all means get the audio copy. The voice actors do a great job.

I, too, "read" the audio version of this book and enjoyed it. Here in Japan it's expensive to get my hands on English books, so my hometown city library's downloadable audio books are a real treasure.

It was my second Maeve Binchley book, and I enjoyed both of them.

Thanks for selecting the Maeve Binchy book. I was wondering what I was going to read next and you reminded me of what a good story-teller she is. I went straight to the library and checked it out (in the large print format).

Suzanne, Thanks for chosing this book! I've been looking for a nice, safe, comfortable read and this fits the bill! This is the first Maeve Binchy book I've read, but I am hooked!

Love Maeve Binchy's books

You are presenting us with my very favourite authors.I have read many of her books -but am looking forward to reading this one.
The Greater Victoria Libraries have been closed for a month--dispute between employer and librarian. We are all signing petitions to have them meet and negotiate terms that will open our libraries where we can find the books we enjoy from our daily reads.
It is such a pleasure to read with You. Shirley

I wouldn't have looked twice at Maeve Binchy's writing if it weren't for the Book Preview Club, and so I thank you for introducing me to a wonderful author and a very promising sample of Whitethorn Woods. I do expect to get this book and read it, having been brought up Catholic and being very aware of and sympathetic to all of the people in Father Flynn's world. I am impressed so far with the characters, and curious about what may or may not happen at Saint Ann's well.
