Sandra, welcome to our book club. I like having the authors on oour forum. The book is interesting. I like the theme of letting God direct your life and not people, even well intentioned family or church members. thanks for writing

Thanks for inviting me, Wendy. I think, too, that so many of us have dreams that we think "can't come true" and when we run up against road blocks we just get stoic and put our dreams aside. But who is to say that God did not place those dreams within our hearts - and He'll bring them about if we take a risk?

Sandra, Today's read is great! I like her mention of "not liking children is like blasphemy to christians" I do remember being railroaded into teaching preschool Sunday School. I told them preschool wasn't my best age group. I was criticized by the Sunday School director repeatedly. I hated teaching the class. I was a bad christian. I do like most kids one on one, but that didn't redeem me. I have since found my dream, i'm doing what I like, and I'm doing it well.

Unemployment Hurts

April 21 2008, 4:46 PM

I love this book. The issues are very real. Too many jobs stick young people in cubicles and expect them to be happy and have longevity on a job. Debt among our youth is rampant. College loans, and rent, and car payments, cell phones, etc. are killing the futures of our young. The sadness, fears and frustrations of our heroine are palpable. Great writing. The suspense has been building through day 5. Equally well written is the potential for envy (not a Christian trait) between herself and her brother and his fiance. Their success and attractiveness together make her feel jealous, yet she tries very hard not be be envious. She wishes them their success, she just wishes that she could partake of some success herself. She is also keenly aware of her parents' disappointment if she cannot find and hold a job. I know many people who can relate to these troubles today. These times are difficult. I plan to buy this book and add it to my library. I very much enjoy the quick-paced writing style of the author. I look forward to seeing how the story develops and how God takes charge.

Finally Got Book!

May 28 2008, 4:09 PM

It has taken me until a few days ago to acquire this book. My library here in Ft. Smith, AR, did a search for me and found me a copy in Independence, MO.

I have now begun to read. So far so good. She sounds like a girl after my own heart. Always looking out for others and sometimes getting (a lot of times) the short end of the stick. When I am finished, I will report on the entire book. However, it looks like it was worth the wait.

Thanks Suzanne for suggesting this book. VA
