I'm a big Brian Lumley fan; read all of the Necroscope books up to the point of this one. Harry is a great character and it will be interesting to see how he resurfaces after having been destroyed.

This is not the book in my inbox today. It is the same author but just title "Necroscope". From reading the book jacket and the first paragraph it seems more sci-fi than horror. I don't really enjoy sci-fi so I probably won't finish reading since I am behind from last week. The description from "The Touch" at least has vampires and I might have given it more of a chance. I would appreciate someone letting me know about "Necroscope". Should I give it a chance? Is it a horror?

The Necroscope series is indeed horror with a taste of sci-fi thrown in for flavour. I was instantly hooked and everyone that I have recommended this series to has read it thru to completion. For the entire series, IMHO there are a only few bumps in the road, and these would be the 2 'Lost Years' volumes, somewhere in the middle of the epic. Thankfully, these 2 do not lend anything to the overall series and can be entirely skipped if need be.
If you are at all skeptical, just pick up the first book 'Necroscope' 1992 and give that one a try. The first two chapters easily prove that this is a horror based series.
