Should we do something about the current climate change, the so-called "global warming"? Of *course* we should -- we should prepare for a warmer future. Some people will profit from it, some will lose, but there's no point in fighting Mother Nature as the global Chicken Littles would have us do. Let's *prepare* for a warmer earth. After all, this is nothing new as the globe has gone through many such cycles through the ages. It's all part of evolution ... changes occur ... sometime, down the road, global cooling will begin. The Chicken Littles of *that* era will also likely panic ...

I am with you. I think it is so arrogant that people think that they can change the climate of the earth. Furthermore you can measure the temperature of the earth, but explaining what caused it is a THEORY not scientific fact.

Global warming confuses me. I want to see the actual temperature readings. [ I guess I'm one of those people who have to see the data to believe]. I've been checking the temperature reports of Prudoe Bay this year, and I don't find it warmer. Current temperatures where I live in Colorado do not show any increase than in last 40 years, [I've lived here all my life.] In fact in Colorado its been cooler these last couple years. So, is the North Pole warmer but Prudhoe Bay is not? If so, why?

I agree. It is hard to believe there is significant climate change when the place in Colorado where we vacation every year saw record snowfall this past winter. I also am disappointed in the author's statement that everyone agrees about global warming. Many, many scientists and weather men think this is just the natural weather cycle. To make that statement is both untrue and manipulative.

I would have to agree with lori -the earth has undergone many changes in climate throughout it's life, some of them quite dramatic. so far this book only seems to be telling us that it is the human's fault that this is occuring. i am not saying that humans are not playing a role in warming, however, to point solely at us IS biased.
Perhaps the authors will examine this topic as well to provide all opinions regarding this matter, but given the beginning of this book, i would be surprised if they did.

i thought i'd see what other people thought of the book and surprised to see people so quick to determine that we can't do anything and should get used to the idea. we live in an era that I can only describe as selfish. How can we use up the earths resources and expect to florish. We need to take care of the planet. If people can't see that, God help us.
It goes beyond local record temperatures. If you are going to jump to a conclusion, do the world a favor and read on.

I Am A Tree Hugger!!!!!!!!!!! I plant approximately 100 trees every year. Yet, I agree with most of the people who have written in this forum. The authors say they are not trying to cause an overly dramatic panic, but are being scientific. It seems to me that is exactly what they are doing, panicking. So far, I have not read data that has been delivered in an accurate scientific format to cause me to consider their hypothesis. I'm continuing to read, Doris, but I am not impressed.

the DVD "The Great Global Warming Swindle" by BBC reveals this as a social engineering hoax- to bring in the carbon tax and consolidate and centralize financial power in one bank that we will be forced to pay to-they have run out of enemies-now we are the earth's enemy!
Scientists do not get grants until they buy into this scam-investigate -the truth here is quite obvious-avoid the propaganda.
