There are some great ww2 SAAF pics in the book South African Air Force at War.
There's a picture od Warrant officer from one of the SAAF Liberator Squadrons, looks like he's wearing an army BD blouse is Air Gunner wing looks like the RAF issue type.
See my thread on Scottish Air Gunner an RAF gunner who volunteered to serve with 24 squadron SAAF, he does mention the SAAF crew giving him one of the bilingual AG wings.
I have 5 original SAAF pilot wings and one original Observer wing! like to find the other pattern Observer wing that wing looks more like the wing on the RAF AG wing.
I saw recently a SAAF kings crown aerial photograper half wing, must be a postwar wing, never saw any of the 60 Squadron crews wearing them.
I also found a source for SAAF squadron badges made in Eygpt during the war I picked up a 40 Squadron pinback one, has enamal inlay on gold. Nice!
