Despite the departure of a number of members to the newly formed 11 Group, the rest of 602 from Canada and the US is carrying on. We participated in the week long airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the end of July, with our display of period tentage, furniture, radios, flying equipment, etc. New this year was an original RAF Observers Portable Telephone and a 1938 vintage radio modified to conceal a CD player inside.
Lots of warbird were present - over a dozen Mustangs, two P-40's, two Spitfires, a Ju-52, a Do-24 flying boat, hoards of Harvards, a Chipmunk, a Tiger Moth, and many more.
The display was very well received by the visitors and the reenactors (primarily USAAF) got special recognition at the Warbirds Award Dinner.
We will definitely be back next year.
