Response to Squadrons/VE Day |
| -- 202 Sqdn (Coastal Command) was part of 15 Group at Castle Archdale, Fermanagh beginning 01/44. Disbanded 06/27/45. Catalina IV aircraft. Detachment from 202 Sqdn with 18 Group (Shetland Islands). Departed 06/45
-- 221 Sqdn (Coastal Command) was part of 16 Group at Edku, Egypt, arriving 01/45. Disbanded 08/45. Detachments at El Adim/Benina/Aqir which departed 08/45
-- 238 Sqdn (Fighter Command) was part of 10 Group at Chilbolton, Hampshire in 1941. Transferred to Middle East (El Firdan, 05/41)
I don't see anything linking these three squadrons at a common station. 202 and 221 are Coastal Command squadrons operating in different theatres (UK and MTO) and flying dissimilar aircraft (Catalina's and Wellingtons, respectively).
