Response to Station name?

Hi Alex,

I don't believe that this is a post war Irvin, however I do agree that it is a bit unusual to have the station name. I too would tend to agree that it might have belonged to an officer on staff, particularly since he was of a somewhat higher rank of Flt. Lt. Much like "Uncle" in Piece of Cake. It is however well hidden under the collar and as I'm sure you know in the collecting arena "never say never and never say always". I originally acquired the jacket from Canada, so my first suspicion is that he may have been on staff with No.1 RCAF Squadron, which for a period of time was posted to Northolt, but without a first name and serial number I suppose I'll probably not be able to find much additional information. Again, as we all say with certain pieces "wish it could talk". By the way Alex have we not corresponded before regarding a Transport Command tunic? Just curious. Take care.

Paul O
