Question: Back dating RAF Other Ranks SD

I have seen several vendors on EBAY UK offering RAF Other Ranks SDs saying all you need do is replace the QC buttons with KC buttons and it is proper for WW2.

Is this true? I have a couple of sets of original RAF KC buttons I could use.
