Yes thanks Neil. I was literally just looking in Mick's book L vs R flying equipment. In it he lists pictures oh the tropical mae west which have the bold stencil fonts, like arial font; without the 'flicks'. The caption reads, '1932 pattern mae west with a different stle of instructions to its temperate brother', or something along those lines. With this in mind, it would seem he is unaware of the '1940' pattern mae west. What interests me is why release a different version with edited instructions? I mean, why not add leg tapes or a fluorscine dye pack (like was later added) to make it plausible to introduce a different pattern?
As I've said before, since joining the forum a couple of days after the W&P show (and browsing the forum for about 3 years) I've learnt so much, my collection has grown and I've made a good contact list for future collecting; this thread being a perfect example-thankyou!
